Most people are driving daily without realizing that the only thing holding the car to the road are their car tires. Tire care is often neglected, for most cases due to ignorance. Please see statistics below:-

An estimated 80 thousand crashes occurred annually in the US alone due to flat tires or blowouts before tire pressure monitoring systems were installed in vehicles (ref. NHTSA. (2003, June). “FMVSS No. 139, New Pneumatic Tires for Light Vehicles”, Docket No. NHTSA-2003-15400-2),

If the tire remained under-inflated by 1 psi over its lifetime, its tread life would decrease by about 800 miles / 1280 km (ref. NHTSA Docket No. NHTSA-2000-8572-26),

NCSA tire pressure survey indicate that 26% of passenger cars had at least one tire that was under-inflated by at least 25% (approx. 6.8 psi under inflation)  Thus, on average, these passenger cars could lose about 5,440 miles / 8,704 km of tread life due to under-inflation, if their tires were under-inflated to that extent throughout the life of the tires (ref. NHTSA Docket No. NHTSA 2000-8572),

Recent data provided by Goodyear indicate that fuel efficiency is reduced by 1% for every 2.96 psi of under-inflation (ref. NHTSA Docket No. NHTSA-2000-8572-26). Therefore, a typical 25 percent under-inflated tire would increase fuel consumption by approximately 2.3%. Hence with proper inflated tires, it would translate into a saving of approximately US$11 billion in the US alone (using 2013 data from US Energy Information Administration),

The statistics above depicts the situation in US and it reflects the same or worse off situation for many other countries. Our TPMS is answer that makes driving safer and preserves a greener environment (save life, save fuel, save tire)!
